It’s Monday. I got up after only one — okay, one and a half snoozes and started my day with some awesome quiet time. My Bible reading included 1 Corinthians 13 — the love chapter that our guest blogger Kathy Smith quoted so beautifully in last week’s post. Then, the Bible study book I’m reading really focused in on the point of how much Jesus loves us and wants us to experience that love personally, not simply as an abstract concept.
I grabbed a shower, washed and dried my hair, and still made it to work 15 minutes early. (Yay for President’s Day and lighter-than-normal traffic.) I lugged all of my bags in from the car and rounded the corner to my office door.
There, taped perfectly at eye level, was a beautifully colored page from one of my Pink Typewriter World and real-world friends, the lovely Nancy Mount. The page features a happy pink typewriter and the scripture from Jeremiah 29:11 that reminds us that God has a plan for our lives — plans to give us “hope and a future.” The page featured a banner title “Live Your Story” that I found perfectly apt for this writer who got brave enough this weekend to send the query for her novel out to two agents.
I prayed hard over those queries. I read devotions this weekend and listened to writing training that reminded that “Man’s rejection does not equal God’s rejection.” And so arriving for a normal Monday, I received a clear reminder from my God, sent via a dear friend, that He has a plan.
It may not be my plan, but it is a good plan.
And it gives me hope and a future.
And a clear reminder that I am loved.
So, today, I encourage all of us to share our Pink Typewriter World love in the real world. You never know just how God will use your willingness to be a blessing to someone.
